We are Team Sugar Runs.
Sugar Runs started in 2014 as a way for Jessica to connect with the running community and share her running journey through social media and blogging. It since has grown into a community of female coaches helping athletes of all abilities achieve their running goals. Here’s a little timeline of how we got started and where we’re at today:
June 2008: Jessica trains for and runs her first half marathon. She’s hooked and so begins a love affair with running.
November 2014: Jessica started Sugar Runs on social and began to blog about her first marathon training experience.
December 2015: Jessica runs her first BQ at her 3rd marathon.
June 2016: Jessica receives her RRCA certification.
January 2017: First athlete signs up for coaching with Sugar Runs!
December 2017: The Team Sugar Runs athlete group is continuing to grow. Many athletes are requesting info and details on nutrition and how to enhance their training.
October 2018: Jessica and Paula start working together to launch a nutrition program for runners and one-on-one nutrition coaching.
January 2019: Jessica leaves full-time corporate job to coach full-time and the nutrition coaching services are launched with Paula!
March 2019: Coach Katherine and her athletes join the Team Sugar Runs family!
Story behind the name:
Jessica has a massive sweet tooth, and while she’s always hoped that sugar could be a way to fuel her workouts, it has proven to be a less than desirable way to get results so she saves the treats for after her long runs and workouts!
We’re happy you’re here!
